Austen Nobles, 22

Chicago, IL

What got you into making music?

My parents cd collection, 2000's music videos, Guitar Hero

Describe your music making process? what is a typical studio session like for you ?

I usually create around how I'm feeling at the time or something I heard/saw that influenced me. I usually make the beat first, mix it in FL 12 and then export it over to Pro Tools. From there I map everything out, write to it, record, mix then master. Depending on the song it can take anywhere from 2-6 hours and a couple days for mixing revisions if needed.

What is your favorite song that you have made so far?

Honestly, my best songs are unreleased right now. I have plans on how I'm release them throughout the rest of the year. Be on the lookout, the K9's are coming.

Tell us a little more about how your new song “countin’” came about?

"Countin" came about thru a producer session w/ my homie Johnny Carter. He's a raw producer as well. I slept over his crib, woke up and made the beat on his laptop. I was in a good mood and wanted to reflect that thru the beat. Definitely had a very go lucky type of vibe for the whole day and put that energy into the song.

Who are some of your artistic inspirations?

Donald Glover, Andre 3000, Lupe Fiasco, Tyler The Creator, Pharrell, Toro y Moi, etc.
