Unless This Song is Playing Keep Your Phone Off!

Based on Daylight’s Apple Music and Spotify, he’s been rapping since 2018 and in that time it looks as if he took a bit of a hiatus from December 2021 till about August 2022. Since then, Daylight’s been taking things to a whole new level. In the time since his last TGF appearance, Daylight has released countless singles, done a few shows, and has even gotten a TGF interview while also going on to sign under the  label “Cinq Music Group.” While Cinq is seen more as a Latin label due to them housing Bad Bunny, Anuel, and Daddy Yankee, they have since bought the masters to T.I’s whole catalog and signed Janet Jackson back in 2018. Note that this is Tone's first release with Cinq distribution as part of a new deal.

Going back into the music, in the single we get a CBMix-produced song that sounds like something Valee would hop on. The single was just released on May 5th, 2023, and has been getting approved by the likes of Gold Haze, CBMix, and Sebastian Kamae. The production instantly makes you bob your head as Daylight raps “If you pull up with your friends you gotta turn your phone off, if that b*tch rings it might throw my brodie tone off.” It’s a very energic song similar to any previous CBMix song. Just like many other CBMix songs “Phone Off” comes in just under 2 minutes which gives it the right amount of time for Daylight to go off on the track and make the listener want to keep the song on replay.

Unless Daylight needs to take hiatus he’s definitely going to be an artist from Chicago to watch out for the rest of the year.
