Daylight Tone - Spotlight (EP)

Daylight Tone returns to our pages with a brand new EP titled “Spotlight”

Chicago’s Daylight Tone is back with a brand new project entitled Spotlight .

There are several memorable tracks on Spotlight and Daylight Tone stays on beats that are to be expected if you’re a seasoned listener but it is absolutely undeniable that he is improving greatly as an artist from track to track. “Shut Up Love” was an energetic track which was the first song on the mixtape. A very great introduction if you ask me, this track showcases the lyrically ability of Tone. The hook on this one will make you feel as if you are floating, Daylight taps into a more softer, mellow summer time flow (its kinda indescribable), giving his audience that feel good vibe. The audio at the end of the track also shows the human side of Tone as he goes back and forth with the engineer discussing the “vibe” (kinda funny if you ask me)

“No Scope” is probably my favorite song on Spotlight and besides the simple bounciness of the instrumental Daylight Tone relies on his standard tempo of delivery but absolutely cruises all over this beat, real rap is alive and well! Spotlight comes to a close with “Quicksand” which is more slower track and an excellent note to end the project on. I will definitely be spinning this project for a while, sitting at only 4 tracks its a project that I know I will revisit quite often.

Do yourself a favor and stream “Spotlight” by Daylight Tone and let us know what you think in the comments!
