Jay Wood - QUALITY TIME (EP)

Jay wood makes his TGF debut with the drop of his EP titled “Quality Time”

I had the pleasure of getting in tune with Jay Wood last year by hearing his project “Trackstar” which made a huge impression on me. It made such a big impression, we ended up putting it on the top 50 projects of the year in Chicago list that I and the TGF team made at the end of last year. Jay Wood’s polished style along with his smooth unique rap vocals is definitely the reason that gets me coming back to his music, but “Quality Time” really showed me a more expanded transparent version of Jay Wood, that really made this drop one of my favorites of the year so far.

“Quality Time” is honestly a great EP that plays into the title so well. From the beginning of the EP with tracks “Shirley” setting the scenery, it keeps the same themes and subject matter throughout that really makes this EP special. Jay Wood is transparent with his thoughts and delivery discussing relationship situations and overall problems that we all can relate to. What really is interesting is the openness and the relatable subject matter that peaks behind every bar. I love that Jay Wood can be relatable but at the same time tell his truths and make songs that almost plays as a story tales.

Overall all I really enjoyed this dope EP and I would have to say my favorite track on the project would have to be “ Complications” ft. Ausar, but be sure to find your own personal favorites and stream this brand new EP from Jay Wood here!
