The Ghetto Flower spoke with the rising artist about his work, his favorite moments, and the inspiration behind it all.

THE GHETTO FLOWER: You’re only 22, but you’ve put in tons of work with artists. When did you first know you wanted to be a part of the business?

JOE MUNNA: I idolized Lil Wayne, Mac Miller, and Drake growing up and they all had inspiration on just being myself and creating music how I think it should sound.

TGF: Who are some of your creative inspirations when it comes to recording and being an artist?

JM: My creative inspiration comes from being in a very open-minded family and friend circle that allows me to truly be myself and explore. I don't ever feel myself being limited creatively and I think that's so important because a lot of people hold themselves back from experimenting out of fear of being judged.

TGF: Describe the message that you are trying to get across to the audience with your new single "Fallin" What exactly is the track about?

JM: Fallin is about me really just being kinda lost at the moment. A very euphoric beat, it just made me think of my life right now. Girls in n out of my life so I never know who really there for me, my brother just got locked up so I try to make sure I can answer all his phone calls, etc. We all go through a lot n sometimes it just feels like we’re free-falling from 20’000 ft in the air. But that's okay bc u always land on ur feet n keep moving.

TGF: With everything that goes into working on a project and creating music, what would you say is your favorite part about the process?

JM: My favorite part about making music is that it's 100% up to me how I want to make it sound. Being an artist, it's your job to paint a picture with words, and there's an unlimited amount of ways to accomplish just that.

TGF: With your career being so short thus far, what are some of your future goals?

JM: My future goals hmmm. I hope to break into the top 100 charts and hopefully one day win a grammy! But for now, I just wanna be able to live off my work.

TGF: Are there any artists out there that you REALLY want to work with in the future?

JM: In the future id love to work with Chicago artists like Brentrambo, G herbo, keef, Valee, Calboy. But in general, I think we all need that Drake features to seal the deal!

TGF: What is next for you? Do you have any releases scheduled for the near future?

JM: I am actually releasing at least 1 song a week on my SoundCloud until my tape “Finessin Hearts” drops in the spring!
