LaSalle Grandeur - Hey Now! (Prod. KMKZ)

Following LaSalle Grandeurs release of the 3-song EP titled Before the TEARS EP that is the predecessor of his upcoming debut album titled TEARS.  LaSalle Grandeur finally gives insight to his upcoming project with the latest single Hey Now! From his upcoming album TEARS.

LaSalle Grandeur uses his newfound indie-pop sound to explore the battle of his psyche and intrusive thoughts. He takes the mantle of the friend that he needed when he was facing intrusive suicidal thoughts.

I got the chance to link up with LaSalle in LA where he previewed “Hey Now” and collaborated with RJM Studios to shoot the crazy visual. “Hey Now” is true to its name, bringing listeners to an island where evocative production, twisting lyrics, and melodic, flexible deliveries are all that enhance the surroundings. The song itself builds on an elegant sonic base, while Grandeurs’s lyrics shift between reflective, directed, and clever with seamless exactness.

He utilizes his hook as a comforting questioning of himself, constantly asking himself if he is okay. While his verse is filled with his intrusive thoughts as he stares down the calm beach waters as he ponders himself drowning.

In the final bridge of the song, LaSalle makes an homage to one of his favorite and most influential artists, Kid Cudi’s Up Up & Away.

By the sounds of it, Chicago’s own is becoming and more comfortable in his deliveries, and with such an individual voice and artistic vision to match, releases like “Hey Now” place the rising talent on a fast path toward success. Add all of this to a colorfully simplistic set of visuals, and the world of LaSalle Grandeur unveils itself in an intensely irresistible way.

“Hey Now” is yet another impressive step on the road to stardom for Grandeur, so don’t sleep.

Give this one a listen below and truly take the time to pay attention to each lyric. LaSa is telling his story in a wildly compelling and unique way, and I couldn’t be more excited to hear what’s next.
