NePh - More To Come (EP)

Chicago based artist Neph drops his EP release entitled More To Come.

The 6-song project encapsulates a traditional East Coast sound that melds with the more modern lo-fi style and production. This honest simplicity opens up this project to rhythmic flows and possibilities both Neph and his collaborators explore.

The project opens with a recent single release “Another Note” and features Chicago based artist Chris Crack. Creating the foundation for this and several other tracks in this project, soulful samples of vocals smoothly sway and provide the focus for the production. Production in the project is handled by Pharaoh Aru, Yung Ako, and Elijah Meisse. Moving through the project this focus changes, including samples of rich horns sections, all the while supported by smooth bass and subtle extravagance. With this open style of production Neph weaves his laid-back and purposeful style of rap into every vibe whether triumphant, poignant, or playful, supported and featuring Nigel as well in the EP’s second track “Luther Vandross”.

This project is a precursor to his debut mixtape dropping later this year which is titled Hell If I Know. More info to come soon. Listen below to the full project, and find the double music video featuring tracks “You Good” and “Well Again” released last month.
