Steve's Demo (EP) - KAI

KAI makes his TGF debut with new EP “Steve’s Demo”

With recently getting in tune with KAI, I am happy to say that I am extremely excited his work has come across my way. He is a downright amazing young Chicago talent already with “Steve’s Demo” being a 4 song representation of it. His smooth style along with his relatable subject matter that almost feels like he is telling you a story fresh from his memory is captivating and overall makes him stand out. I got the chance to sit with this EP and give it strenuous listens with the result of it being a smooth funky well put together EP that doesn’t get old.

From the first track “Fone Kalls” down to the last on the project “1008 Babies” there is a lot to love with “Steve’s Demo”. For starters, right out the gate, KAI gives you an insight into his life with a skit then soon after a very bouncy vibrant jazzy tune. I feel like once I heard the first track it really drew me in and I really wanted to see if KAI was going to keep that feeling for the entire project.

I now know KAI is honestly a fantastic musician just off listening to this project because his style and the way he makes music is just so wholesome and polished. A lot of his subject matter I personally can relate to but he packages it up in such a unique and musically savvy way that the masses can enjoy and appreciate. I feel like the added skits and just the whole way this project was laid out really made sense and is an EP you should play from top to bottom each time you play it because of how cohesive the listen is. Overall, I enjoyed this EP and is my favorite project I have heard this month so far, so I will continue to give it love and listens. So be sure to stream “ Steve’s Demo” here!
