Sydny August - Rotations (EP)

Does This EP Have Enough to Keep Sydny August in Your Rotation?

After knowing of Sydny August for years, it wasn’t until Ine’a J’s listening party that we finally met in person. For those unknown to Sydny, she has been making music for years, with her earliest EP dating back to 2017. The R&B singer has been keeping up her momentum in the past year as she had countless shows and a handful of singles. With many influences, Sydny cites Aaliyah and Erykah Badu as some of her main inspirations and it can be seen in her music as it comes off more as stories rather than just songs.

Sydny released Rotations on April 20th, 2024 and the EP has five songs with two of the songs previously being released as singles. The whole EP was mixed and mastered by Castle, a frequent collaborator of Sydny and Ine’a J. The EP isn’t that long with the run time only being about 14 minutes but Sydny is able to capitalize in that short time as captures the listener with her mesmerizing voice. The standout song from the EP might be Speechless, from the soothing piano keys and Sydny’s voice, this song should be on everyone’s R&B playlist.

We love to see artists from Chicago grow and that’s exactly what we’ve been seeing in the past year from Sydny. This EP is definitely one to check out and be sure to be on the lookout for upcoming shows where Sydny will be performing because you won’t want to miss out!.
