Thirteendegrees - Uptown Dropout (Album)

Chicago Artist Thirteendegrees Tries to Keep his Momentum Up with His New Album

Recently coming across Thirteendegrees on social media through the “Dontbelateee '' page and seeing that he just released an album, I knew I had to check it out. To get more into Thirteendegrees as an artist, it seems as if he just started making music in 2023 and he released multiple singles, two albums, and a few music videos. His style and sound comes from the fashion scene which is something Thirteendegrees greatly admires and as for the music some of his inspirations include Lucki, Playboi Carti, Uno and Lil Tracy. You can also tell based on the sound of the album, artists such as Young Thug and Lil Keed also helped influence his sound.

Thirteendegrees dropped Uptown Dropout, on April 15th, 2024 and the album has 14 songs with only one being released as a previous single. Before even getting into the album Thirteendegrees catches the attention with an amazing cover art that is his own version of Kanye West cover of “Cruel Summer.” The album has three features which come from Souljasiah on track 7, Zukenee on track 13, and Bitgurl on track 14. Another amazing thing that thirteendegrees was able to accomplish on this album was that he mixed and mastered the whole album. The standout song would probably be Raq Homecomin’ and this is the song that you can hear those YSL and Atlanta influences.

With Young Thug currently in jail and the tragic passing of Lil Keed a few years ago, this album will definitely feed those who have been missing music from those two. With three albums now released in under a full year, it’ll be interesting to see what Thirteendegrees does now because his music would be great live.
