D’so Nyce – Pay it Forward (The Sapphire Tape EP)

I randomly stumbled across D’so Nyce while searching for some new artists and after checking him out, I’m interested in seeing what he has next. The song sent in was “Pay it Forward'' which comes off as an R&B beat-induced ride due to its smoothness.

Now just because the beat is more R&B I wouldn’t consider D’so Nyce a R&B artist. Throughout “Pay it Forward '' you hear lyrics like “Keep the record clean in case I end up talking to Vlad '' and it’s followed by “Gettin cheers walking the stage like I just became a grad”.

The DJ Vlad line made me laugh a little due to the background he has as an interviewer and the 2nd line was nice wordplay by D’so Nyce because after looking deeper into him D’so Nyce has performed before. This melody and wordplay are definitely there and can be seen throughout the whole project that D’so Nyce just released.

The project is titled “The Sapphire Tape” and dropped on December 16th, 2022. The Sapphire Tape is a quick listen that comes in at 9 tracks and about 23 minutes. This is an artist that I can see being played during some chill nights where you’re just staying in or a late-night drive.
