JAMS The Flava Child Rolls the Dice on Himself with His Latest Project
Growing up on 90s Chicago rap due to older relatives, listening to JAMS has always been able to fill that void in the rap genre that we hardly get anymore. For those who don’t know, JAMS is an artist who has been very influenced by that 90s Chicago rap with Do or Die being a prominent influence on him. As an artist, JAMS has always taken pride in his Chicago roots, which must've been difficult for him since he didn’t use any of the city’s resources. JAMS shared that this album was entirely made outside of the city and that it’s about taking a risk and betting on yourself, hence the title “Roll the Dice.”
Getting into the album, “Roll the Dice” was released on July 16th, 2025 and has eight songs with a runtime of about 22 minutes. Of the eight songs, two of them were previously released as singles with the lead “Riding on Chrome,” currently sitting at about 30k streams. In the first track off “Roll the Dice” Mr. Macintosh started off with an ode to one of the group's most popular song “Po Pimp” showcasing his Do or Die influence. The single would also garner a music video which showcases a homage to the 90s style of videos. Overall though this album has the makings of being a classic, from the ability to play the album in just about any situation and the smooth, dream-like production and luxurious raps JAMS didn’t disappoint with this album.
JAMS’ career it’s going to be really interesting to keep tabs on because with the huge momentum he gained from his last album in 2024 and with this new one, he has the makings of hitting big with his current hand.
