Jordan Martin - L[/]ST IN TRANSLATION
Jordan Martin's debut album, L(/)st in Translation, has transcribed life scores into music scores within 10 tracks.
Back in 2018, Jordan began writing letters addressing his memories and emotions, with consideration for how he could grow to face his problems head-on. Eventually, these letters transformed into a full-body conceptual album – a soundscape with layered instruments – written and produced by Jordan with help from a handful of collaborators, including Tripp 97' who he released Garden of Eden with earlier this year. L(/)st in Translation is an honest body of work that displays Martin's versatility as an artist - from his quick bars on "Midnight Desperado" to his smooth vocals on "Lion & the Bull" - and his willingness to grow.
While Jordan was raised in Saint John Indiana, he has made Chicago a second home, frequenting the city multiple times a week to work in fashion and explore the vibrant creative scene that has taken him "under their wing." Although L(/)st in Translation is Martin's first album, he has already pursued many opportunities to perform in Chicago and across the country, including a SoFar Sounds performance and closing out the 21 Minus Festival at the Museum of Contemporary Art.
