Surging out of Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood is Nico Supremo who has been steadily rising to the forefront of the city’s underground scene for the past year or so. He has been featured on our TGF pages numerous times now and is destined to take the next step into becoming a member of the established artists who will lead the next wave of Chicago.
He recently unveiled his latest project "EGO DEATH" which has 12 tracks, and features from “Sebastian Peace”, “DGEE”, and “Supa Bwe”
“Track 4 - SLKRS (feat. Sebastian Peace)” is one of my favorites from the tape and we hear Supremo paying his homage to SLKRS (Los Slackers) - A Latino lifestyle & apparel brand. “To us SLKRS means “Creating On Our Own Time.” “My stummy hurt, my slkrs tattoo. this for life baby, who the f**k is you?”. This track features a guest verse from Sebastian Peace who adds a different flow and cadence to the track keeping the listener locked in.
“Track 2 - Prime Time“ is another emotionally charged track that includes a very famous Derrick Rose voice sample, “Why can’t I be MVP of the league” this song is really about Nico growing up and recognizing that it is his time, his priorities are the sole focus. It is evident throughout this project that 2021, is his time.
The standout track on the tape has to be “Track 9 - Breakaway (feat. Supa Bwe)”, this song presents a deeper tone and darker mood, Nico really describes in detail what EGODEATH means to him. He raps about breaking ties and getting rid of unnecessary connections. Chicago frontrunner Supa Bwe, drops a dope verse offering a more upbeat, high pitch vibe. It is great to see these two working with each other, they flow really well in my opinion.

I am really excited to watch Nico Supremo continue to develop as an artist and build his fanbase across Chicago and beyond and even though it is still relatively early on for them I am very confident that he is going to be able to have a lot of longevity in his music career.
