Tri Nohbi - "I THOUGHT WE WERE HAVING FUN"

Tri Nohbi puts together a very memorable project titled “ I thought we were having fun”

I will be the first to say I have been sleep on Tri Nohbi. He came across my radar last year when our team member Reina gave Tri Nohbi a mini interview for one of our segments on our website. After reading the interview and listening to a couple of loose tracks, Tri Nohbi’s music peeked my interest. But I will tell you with this brand new project “I thought we were having fun“ I have a whole different type of appreciation and outlook on Tri Nohbi as an artist with this project being one of my personal favorites out of Chicago so far!

With dissecting Tri Nohbi’s music from a bird’s eye view, one thing you can easily pick out is his very unique voice and the melodies that he chooses to go with on tracks that are a bright highlight. But the thing that really puts it all cohesively together for me is his actual subject matter which really is potent and what I relate to the most. He makes it so easy to just sing to his songs, like the hooks on “These days”, “Back 2 U, and “Smooth Operator” and the list goes on. It’s catchy but at the same time just feels like tracks that speak to people on a different level including myself.

“I thought we were having fun” is a musical journey consisting of extreme highs with Tri Nohbi portraying his unique vocals consisting of rap and melodic RNB blending well like a perfect cocktail. Tri Nohbi really put together something special with this album so be sure to stream here!
