First Round Pick - Vela Seff

Vela Seff drops off some more hard music in the form of a project titled “First Round Pick” 

With the drop of “You Got Mail” and “Mack10” I couldn’t wait for what Vela has been cooking up since he announced the drop of his brand new project “First Round Pick”. Well, It’s here now, and I honestly couldn’t be more proud of the outcome with “First Round Pick” being a solid balance project of bass-heavy music with amazing beat selection and savory memorable rhythmic bars.

I got the chance to interview Vela on our podcast show “Fresh Flowers” before the release of this project which really gave me a lot of insight into him and his rap style before listening. Trust me, I have heard countless Vela tracks and have written numerous blog posts on his work, but actually sitting down and hearing how he explains where he got his influences and about his own style is really interesting and makes a lot of sense when I apply it to this project. Vela told me he has a lot of influence from rap group Three 6 Mafia and Spaceghostpurrp and you can clearly tell that in the project with Vela opening up and showcases a ton of heavy unique underground lo-fi infused sounds.

With getting into detail on “First Round Pick” from the get-go it really sticks out with the first track “Got It All” down to the last on the tape! I really appreciate that this project has a really nice balance between tracks and really shows Vela’s versatility with him riding on an assortment of different-sounding unique beats. No matter the track, I really feel like Vela’s personality and the overall raspy smooth way he put together a song is so appealing and infectious, which makes “First Round Pick” so raw!

I really feel like Vela has really come into his own with this project by it being really a variety of great-sounding unique bass-heavy music that doesn’t get old. So please be sure to stream this brand new project here!
