Juwon – Backend Diaries (EP)

OG Music Group’s rising star Juwon drops His New EP “Backend Diaries”

The OG Music Group has been one of the most consistent out of Chicago in the past years, with OG Stevo leading the pack. With only having about a year and a half under his belt, Juwon has been making a lot of noise for himself. Diving into his year of 2023, the 24-year-old rapper released multiple singles and music videos while also having a freestyle on iLLANOiZe radio in September. Juwon is able to differentiate from other Chicago rappers due to his hypnotic flow and his wordplay.

Diving into the EP, Juwon released Backend Diaries on January 29th, 2023, and it has a runtime of about 13 minutes. Backend Diaries only seven songs with the final song BNB’s & SRT’s being previously released as a single back in July 2023. The EP starts off with Trapper of the Year, and it’s a great start to the project as we get some great 808s on production to create a menacing head nodder. We get some more emotional songs or “love” songs as some may categorize them with Love Affair and Love, You and Lean. The third song Feeling Lucky would probably be our personal stand out with it being more of a party hit while also being making you want more due to how short the song is. Juwon and OG Stevo give us an amazing song in Stepping On Tops, where we get both rappers go back and forth.

With the EP being so short, it comes off as if Juwon has a big year prepared for his fans because this seems a bit more like a teaser for something much bigger.
