J.Y.N. - This Tragedy

J.Y.N.’s Melodic Summer Hit

In the midst of summer, people are always looking for new music to vibe to and with his latest single This Tragedy, J.Y.N. might just have a great mellow song that fits just that. The Chicago artist started playing piano at a young age but stopped and would later transition into producing in high school. To describe J.Y.N.’s sound is a bit hard because he isn’t restricted to just one genre. While some may say it’s strictly alternative, it’s really a melting pot of R&B, rock, and pop. To coincide with the rock themes J.Y.N. picked up an electric guitar around the middle of the pandemic and has since learned how to play.

This Tragedy was released July 11th, 2024 and is a quick single just under three minutes. The song was produced by Chasu and the production is amazing and fits a great chill night. The production is almost like a Calvin Harris, Funk Wav Bounces, type of production. J.Y.N. is able to provide some great vocals which complements the production just perfectly. While the production is more on the uplifting side, the song lyrics are nearly the opposite as J.Y.N. sings about a tragedy he always ends up putting someone through. 

While J.Y.N.’s last release was an EP back in November of 2023, given his track record he might be teasing a new project. In the past J.Y.N. has released a single before dropping an EP since making music under this name, so if you’re a fan definitely be on the lookout.
