How Musicians can make 5x more Content
As a musician, you need to make your content go as far as you can, especially when it comes to your releases, where visuals are king 👑
Here are 5 ways to break down your master content (ie your song and music video)
1️⃣ Cut down sections of your music video. It doesn’t just have to be released once on one platform. Repurpose clips of it everywhere.
Cut down sections of your music video into shorter clips to put into your Instagram Feed and Stories.
You can use this to promote your upcoming release and to tell your story. Telling your story is how you build a true fanbase that is invested in you.
2️⃣ Use your lyrics, you wrote them for a reason! So tell the story of your lyrics and why the song was written.
You wrote your lyrics to tell a story. Now use those lyrics to tell the story of the song.
If a lyric video isn’t your thing, you could use your lyrics in images, or do a post explaining the meaning behind the lyrics.
Get as creative here as you did when you first wrote them.
3️⃣ Take images from the day of a video shoot as well as a video, don’t miss this opportunity to get even more content from one day.
You can post images from the day of filming.
When you’re shooting a video this is a prime opportunity to do a photo shoot at the same time.
This way your content will last even longer as you’ll have a bank of behind the scenes and professional style photos to post.
4️⃣ Make sure you record the day of a music video for behind the scenes.. people don’t always want the highlights, they want the story, so provide that too.
You’re already filming your music video so just film some behind the scene footage on the day that you can use alongside the video.
It doesn’t need to be professional quality and BTS footage usually looks better when it is not.
It doesn’t need to be one long video or the whole day, you can shoot a series of short films that capture the essence of the day and your personality.
5️⃣ Think about scheduling a live stream for your fanbase... Make people feel special and include them in an event, rather than just chucking the video on YouTube and leaving it there.
As well as posting your video through the usual channels (Youtube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.), you could also premiere your video via a private live stream for your biggest fans.
This is another way to make your fans feel valued by getting to see the video before everyone else and you post it on all your socials.
