Brittney Carter Shines as She Returns With Her EP “3 Peat”

In a year where Chicago native, Brittney Carter was only featured on two songs prior to this release, she definitely delivers on the 3 song EP to end 2023. While not being as active, release wise, Brittney was certainly working hard while continuing to do performances, interviews, and was even a part of an episode of On The Radar when they were recently here in Chicago. For those unfamiliar with Brittney she is more of a hip hop artist who comes with a vibe similar to NoName, while having a mixture of Doja Cat and J.I.D for her voice and cadence.

Diving into the music Brittney Carter released her EP, 3 Peat on December 10th, 2023, and it’s only about six minutes long. The three song EP was fully produced by justdisrupt and in the second song Open Arms we get a sample of Luther Vandross Don’t You Know That?, which gives the song a nice classic touch. The other songs on the ep which are called Open Verse and Open Letter showcase Brittney’s rapping skills which are undeniably some of the best in the city.

Given her quiet year, Brittney still managed to have a big year streaming wise and as anyone knows, that’s huge to keep your momentum going. It’s going to be interesting to see where Brittney goes from here. Brittney has been teasing a music video for the song Open Verse so we might get that soon.
