Dannie Gotit Brings Out the Nigerian Vibes in the Windy City

Today’s artist is someone who has a unique sound that makes him stand out like no one else in Chicago right now. Dannie Gotit is a Chicago artist who embraces his Nigerian background and can create an accent that works perfectly on Afrobeat production. Going into his music background, Dannie has been releasing music under this name since April 2022. In his first song Broken Record, Dannie was singing as he currently does but it doesn’t have the same accent that you hear as he begins to find his sound through creating more music.

In Dannie’s last single Carry Me Go, the song was released on June 16th, 2023, with the single being about two minutes long and it was produced by Calliemajik Beats. In this melodic single, Dannie sings “She carry me go, where I don’t know” on the hook, just implying that some girl is taking him to some unknown location. Then throughout the rest of the song, Dannie sings about this same girl and wanting to see, her and how she has this strong hold on him.

In the time since releasing Carry Me Go, Dannie has performed at Reggies and recently released the music video to the single on November 10th, 2023. The video was shot by LJay and the video includes visuals of Dannie with some models, footage of his Reggies performance, and as well as the black truck that he talks about sending to the woman in the song.
