Morgan Gold – Completely Clueless

Don’t Be Completely Clueless, Check Out Morgan Gold’s Latest Single!

In Morgan’s return to The Ghetto Flower’s page after having one of the best Chicago albums of 2022, she brings us her latest single, Completely Clueless. This song is the second single she has released as she prepares to release her upcoming album. The song was released on August 18th, 2023, and a music video was released to go along with the rollout.

         Diving into the music, Completely Clueless starts off with an unrecognizable voice and makes it seem as though the song has a hidden feature. To much surprise though, Morgan and her longtime collaborator 730Skyler were able to pitch and distort Morgan’s voice to fit this somewhat darker-themed produced track. While we primarily hear the pitched voice throughout the song, you can hear Morgan’s real voice in the background for certain melodies, humming, and adlibs. Morgan uses this single to showcase various viewpoints of the personas within her. One comment Morgan makes regarding this single is “Growing up closeted, I was told all my life I was too masculine. I felt that I wasn’t being a girl properly. When I started my music career, the biggest advice people tried to give me was that I should dress ‘sexier’ or that I should look a certain way. It led to an identity crisis in a way, and I’ve struggled to express myself properly in this industry. I think having two voices in this song, allows me to pay homage and celebrate the masculine and feminine aspects of myself. I don’t think I’ve ever felt more heard on a track before.”

        Upon hearing that quote, all we can say is, that we hear you Morgan and with this amazing single we can't wait to hear the new album. Only time will tell if Morgan can go back-to-back and have this upcoming album as one of the best projects of Chicago in 2023.
