Stoner Pimpson: a Captivating Storyteller

If you've been looking for a new storytelling rapper, Stoner Pimpson is going to deliver. The Chicago rapper and producer released his new album Ghetto Poetry on November 17th, 2023. Stoner Pimpson has been making music for years, with his first song being released on SoundCloud back in 2014. Stoner had a lot to say for this album after not releasing anything in well over a year. His previous release was a collaboration project with fellow Chicago artist 500, who also has a feature on Ghetto Poetry. Stoner conveys his storytelling bars over this smooth jazz like production throughout the album which at points causes the listener to really hone in on what Stoner is saying.

Ghetto Poetry is a dexterous display of storytelling as the album spans over 19 songs with a runtime of about 55 minutes. As previously mentioned, the artist known as 500 has a feature on the album but he isn’t the only one, Stoner brings along CCold, J Wade and MadeInLunden to help on the album. CCold is on song five titled “Time Is Everything”, J Wade and 500 are on song eight titled “It Is What It Is”, and MadeInLunden is in the final song titled Black Sheep. Some of the most memorable and catchy songs off the album would be “iPhone 5”, “Time Is Everything”, “Reminiscent” and “Type Sh*t.”

With such a huge catalog Stoner doesn’t need to be in a rush to release anything new, this was an amazing album and something the fans are greatly going to appreciate.
