Wocky! – numb! (Single)

Walk This Way and Get Introduced to Wocky! as He Takes Us on a Rap and Rock Experience

It’s pretty rare when you have an artist coming up who fuses genres together and has it sound pretty good. That’s just something Wocky! was about to achieve though with his first single since rebranding himself titled “numb!” Wocky! is the latest upcoming artist to come from Milwaukee and after hearing a snippet on his instagram, I had to see what Wocky! was about.

The two genres that Wocky! combined on this single are rap and rock. This has been a growing trend in the music industry as of late with the recent release of Uzi’s latest project “The Pink Tape”, we have Carti’s “Whole Lotta Red'', and we have to Destroy Lonely whose project “If Looks Could Kill” which was heavily influenced by rock/alternative music.

The single is a quick listen as it’s only two minutes and 41 seconds, but the song feels a bit longer than the actual run time. The single opens with guitar chords that would be similar to something you might hear from a 90s band and then you get some hard 808s which come in as the lyrics start. The lyrics are pretty simple as Wocky! talks about his drug usage with the hook being “Aye bro pass the Styrofoam, sometimes I hate this life, I’m drinking smoking till I’m gone, open another D’usse got me feeling super strong, I love the way it feels when I can’t feel it at all.”

This is definitely a song that could get a crowd pumped and I would love to see the single performed live to see how energetic and lively Wocky! can work his crowds.
